Interesting week for listening, with some nice discoveries. Next week may be a bit of a challenge, as I'm out of town for the weekend and probably will hear nothing but classic rock radio on the road (not necessarily by choice; it's all there is on large stretches of the route to where I'm going), unless I can sneak a few CDs in.
Chesterfield Kings, Psychedelic Sunrise (out Sept. 18): Very few bands match the Kings' mastery of '60s sounds, and this is a prime collection of originals that brilliantly evoke the period, including a couple of songs that you'd swear were Rolling Stones outtakes.
